How to Turn your Customers into Loyal Enthusiasts
By: Carla Haddad
For generations, Arts and Sports industries have thrived on their fan-base. Every major band, movie, novel, or sports team has a loyal and loving fan-base supporting them.
There is something unique about being surrounded by people who share the same passions. Naturally, humans cannot help but feel the energy and contentment that comes from the sense of belonging. The feeling we get while watching a football game in a sold-out stadium, singing along to a popular band during a live concert, or going to the premiere of a high-profile movie cannot be replicated or replaced.
This sense of belonging can happen with businesses, too
Instead of fans filling movie theatres or stadiums, brands are sharing social media posts, raving about their products online, and filling their feeds with news and excitement, which allows for prospective and current customers to join in on the fandom.
When your customers become your fans, you will quickly realize that you have the potential to increase your revenue without having to increase your marketing budget. Word-of-mouth is a powerful marketing tool (arguably the most powerful tool of all) and when your customers are also your loyal fans, they will often do the work for you.
So, how can you turn your customers into enthusiasts?
-
Focus on customer experience
Everyone wants to feel appreciated, especially when you are a loyal customer. Providing consistent, excellent service translates to high customer retention and, likely, multiple customer recommendations. When your own customers are your brand ambassadors, your marketing tactics have just gotten easier. If their customer experience was a great one, they will want to share that positive experience with their friends and family, translating into more leads for your business.
-
Provide personalized service
According to Epsilon research, 80% of consumers are more likely to make a purchase when brands offer personalized experiences. It is important that your customers feel like they are a vital part of your brand and not just another sale. Treat every customer as a VIP whenever they are doing business with you and by doing so, you will establish a relationship that goes beyond monetary transactions.
-
Have a strong social media presence
Be aware of where your potential fans are. What social media platforms are they most active on? Do some research and test out what channels allow you to reach more people and receive more engagement. Ask yourself, “What do my customers care about? What do they want to hear from my brand?” Make them feel encouraged and immersed in your brand. Be sure to engage with them so they feel that they are an active part of your business rather than just an observer.
Loyal customers are essential to every brand. Make sure they are a top priority in your marketing strategy and you will soon see that a happy fan makes for a happy business.
